Les Coves de Sant Josep
A unique natural environment
The cavity is visited on a quiet boat trip, accompanied by a Guide-Barquero, sailing the underground river, more than three kilometers long explored at the moment, traveling 800 meters by boat (blue zone) and 255 by foot (brown zone ). There are more than two kilometers, at least, inaccessible to visitors at the moment (red zone and beyond).
The visit lasts approximately 40 minutes, with a constant temperature of 20º throughout the year.

The Subterranean River of the Grottoes of San Jose (in Valencian, Les Coves of Sant Josep), located in a natural place, is a natural cave located in the municipality of Vall de Uxó (Castellón) Spain.
The cavity represents an active upwelling developed in limestone during the Middle Triassic period, but despite the multiple visits of speleologists, the origin of the river or the end of the cave is not yet known. The temperature is maintained constant at 20 ºC inside the cave throughout the year, and with its current 2,750 meters, represents the largest cavity of the province of Castellón and the 2nd of the Valencian Community. It is the longest navigable underground river in Europe.
